Vocabulary-Universe is the list of words denoting our Universe.
Space: Space means the whole universe including the earth.
El espacio significa el universo entero incluyendo la tierra.
Milky Way: Milky Way is our home galaxy. The Milky Way is faint band of light crossing thenight sky. It consists of stars in the Plane of our Galaxy. Milky Way is a spiral Galaxy about 100,000 light years in diameter, containing at least 100 billion stars, like our sun.

La Vía Láctea es nuestra galaxia. La Vía Láctea es una tenue banda de luz cruzando el cielo de la noche. Se trata de estrellas en el plano de nuestra galaxia. La Vía Láctea es una galaxia espiral alrededor de 100.000 años luz de diámetro, que contiene por lo menos 100 mil millones de estrellas,como nuestro sol.
Galaxy: The cluster or bunch of billions stars. There are about 100 billion galaxies in the universe.
El "cluster" o racimo de billones de estrellas. Hay alrededor de 100 billones de galaxias en el universo.
Nebula: Nebula is the cloud of gas and dust in the space. Nebula is the birth-place of stars.
Solar System: Solar System comprises of the sun and the nine other planets which orbit the sun.
El sistema solar se compone del sol y de otros nueve planetas orbitando este.
The Sun: The Sun is the star at the center of the solar system. The Sun is about 4.7 billion years old and is composed about 70% hydrogen and 30% helium with other elements making up less than 1%. The Sun is at the distance of about 32,000 light years from the center of the Galaxy. The diameter of the Sun is 1,392,000km.
El sol es una estrella en el centro del sistema solar. El sol tiene 4.7 billones de años y está compuesto del 70% de hidrógeno y 30% de helio con otros elementos formados por menos del 1%. El sol está a una distancia de 32,000 años luz desde el centro de la galaxia. Su diámetro es de 1,392,000km.
Planets: The Planets are large celestial bodies in orbit around a star (SUN), composed of rock, metal or gas. There are nine planets in our solar system. They are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus and Pluto.
Los planetas son largos cuerpos celestiales en órbita alrededor de la estrella (el sol), compuesta de rocas, metales, y gas. Son nueve planetas en nuestro sistema solar. Ellos son: Mercurio, Venus, La Tierra, Marte, Júpiter, Saturno, Neptuno, Urano y Plutón.
Meteors: Meteor, the flash of light in the sky, popularly known as falling star or shooting star is caused by a particles of dust. Meteoroid is a piece of rock or metal like substance from space that reaches the earth’s surface or the surface of other celestial body.
Meteorito, es el flash de luz en el cielo, popularmente conocido como cometa o asteroide que es causado por partículas de polvo. El meteorito es un trozo de roca o metal como sustancia que viene del espacio y alcanza la superficie de la tierra u otro cuerpo celestial.
Satellites: Satellites are small bodies that orbit a large one, either natural or artificial..
Los satélites son pequeños cuerpos que orbitan a otro cuerpo más grande, son tanto naturales como artificiales.
The Moon: The Moon is the natural satellite of our earth and is its nearest neighbor in space.
La luna es el satélite natural de nuestra tierra y es su vecino más cercano en el espacio.
Comets: Comets are small icy bodies orbiting the sun, usually on a highly elliptical path.
Los cometas son pequeños cuerpos helados que órbitan el sol, por lo general en un camino muy elíptico.
Light Year: One light year is the distance light travels in one year at nearly 3,000,000 km a second. This is the speed of the light.
Un año luz es la distancia que recorre la luz en un año aproximadamente 3,000,000km por segundo. Esta es la velocidad de la luz.
Eclipses: Eclipse is the passage of an astronomical body through the shadow of another.
Eclipse es el paso de un cuerpo astronómico a través de la sombra de otro.
Lunar Eclipse: The moon is said to be in eclipse when the earth comes between the moon and the sun and this is called lunar eclipse.
La luna se dice que está en eclipse cuando la tierra se pone entre la luna y el sol y esto es llamado eclipse lunar.
Solar Eclipse: The sun is said to be in eclipse when the moon comes between the sun and the earth and this is called as Solar Eclipse.
El sol se dice que está en clipse cuando la luna se pone entre el sol y la tierra y esto es llamado como eclipse solar.
Tides: The tide is rise and fall of sea level due to the gravitational forces of the moon and the sun. The rise in the water level is called as high tide and the fall is called as low or ebb tide.
La marea es la subida y bajada del nivel del mar debido a las fuerzas gravitacionales de la luna y el sol. El aumento del nivel del agua se llama como la marea alta y la caída se llama como la marea baja.
Atmosphere: Atmosphere is the mixture of gasses that surrounds the Earth, prevented from escaping by the pull of the Earth’s gravity.
La atmósfera es la mezcla de gases que envuelven la tierra, la previenen de escapes por la gravedad terrestre.
