I'm sure most of you have seen once this beautiful image, but I will tell you a story behind this place and this photograph.
This photograph was called "Bliss" and was taken by the professional American photographer Charles O'Rear and it became a Windows bitmap image used as a wallpaper with Microsoft Windows XP. Charles O'Rear worked for National Geographic and was focused on photographing winemaking in Napa County, California, east of Sonoma Valley. Although O'Rear's focus was on photographing winemaking in the Napa Valley, the hill in Bliss didn't have grapewines when the photographer arrived there and was planning to take some photos there in 1996. This was because of a bug infestation in the grapes as a result of which the entire wineyard had to be pulled out , and the hill was covered by only grass looking absolutely beautiful. O'rear decided to take that photo even if it didn't have anything to do with winemaking.
Once the bug infestation was over, the vineyard on this hill grew up, and currently it is not as attractive and captivating as the image was in the picture by O'rear.
